That was in 2012. I wonder what it is today? 

Boarding schools are a dieing bread. Within 10 years almost all of our schools will end this system.

But students disregard higher education at their own risk and detriment. On May 14, 2026, the Washington Post summarized new research on nearly one million Texas undergraduates, finding that bachelor’s degrees generally paid off financially within 15 years, though returns varied widely by major, institution, and completion status. It also noted that even lower-return liberal arts graduates still out-earned high school graduates.

This is history but not the future. Except for license professionals, medical, legal, the payoff is not there.

But the cost is unbearable for most.

The question now is whether future Adventist students will have as many options, or even the opportunity at all.

Everyone can see the ship running aground, but no one can stop it.

This is a major scandal in the Philippines. An Adventist education is 3 to 4x the cost of other private schools. 

There is no financial accountability.  The church officials ignore the problem and the many complaints. 

The Adventist colleges here have financially incompetent leadership and the church does nothing about it.  All the leaders have academic degrees with no business understanding.  Worse it is clear by their behavior, they do not care about this problem. 

I know so many parents who are jaded by the process.
