I posted this in a blog, and copied and pasted it here:

work today

I was mostly outside conducting driver exams today, which is what I mostly do everyday. It is getting boring. They do a poor job of managing around that place, imo. Still, it is a job, and I try to respect it.

I ran into some adventist student missionaries from South America, namely the country of Argentina. They attend the university down there named river plate or something like that. One of the 2 was a young attractive girl named Raquel. The other was a young guy. I don't recall his name. I gave a road test to the girl. He wanted to hang around, but I told him to stand at the corner of the building, which is standard procedure doing such exams. It has to do with safety.

As we got going, she asked me if I was adventist, and i said yes. the reason she knew is because i conducted a similar exam for another student 3 weeks before. That student was a young man from venezuela. Apparently he went back and told his friends that there is an adventist working at the driver license office. Oh well.

Nice young people. I wish I had more time to talk with them. I got a feeling I'll see some more.

Raquel told me they were here selling bibles and christian adventist books. She also told me that the guy from venezuela had gone back home to get married.

Hopefully i'll get to talk again with the young man she was with. I didn't mean to be rude.

I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs.

That is cool! My parents are missionaries in Venezuela and they say that the university in Argentina is really nice.

How is the church in Venezuela doing? Has Chavez's government had any impact on it or have the churches been pretty much left alone? We see a lot of news coming out of Venezuela on Univision and it is good very often.

Well my opinion of Chavez isn't positive. However, despite all his saber ratteling, and his many changes....so far he has had very little effect on churches. My parents are at the SDA university which is quite a ways from the capital. The crime rate in the capital is quite high but out where they are it is quite peaceful most of the time and so far the university is actually expanding it's services and adding areas of study to it's program.

Thanks for asking!
