Not addressed in Scripture, is it? It does indicate that He drank poison when He was 30 (Matthew 26).

If Jesus never experienced sickness, then how can He fully sympathize with "all our infirmities"?

It will be interesting to see what sort of responses this thread will get from the modern-day Pharisees (you know, the "illness is all your fault and is a sign that you must have committed a great sin" brigade.)

I will hazzard a guess and say He suffered head colds just like everyone. Measles and chicken pox are usually a childhood malidy and since we don't hear about His early years, that is also a guess. But, as an adult, do you think when He got a cold He healed himself?

Well, I would say that, overall, Jesus had a very healthful lifestyle -- plenty of fresh air, lots of exercise (how many times did he WALK from Cana to Jerusalem?), wholegrains in the diet, fruit -- I don't recall mention of vegetables, but they would have been there, and most probably legumes and nuts.

There would have been no Coke, Fizzy drinks, sugar and caffeine-laden tea or coffee. Water would have been the main drink. No alcohol, drugs, tobacco -- not even "side-stream smoke"! Neither would there have been a McDonald's down the track, or even a Pissa Hut.

Many of the "common" diseases which we have would not have existed -- to a large extent because of their lifestyle choices.

Um, but they would have been malnourished and stunted by our standards, had teeth falling out due to lack of dentistry and an average life expectancy in the 30s or 40s and massive infant mortality rates. Let's not get too nostalgic for a time that was healthier in some ways but much less so in others.

Jesus was in all points tempted as we are, and I believe that includes the temptation to snap at a disciple when your back is aching and your feet are tired. He was human, and would have had colds and flus, stomach upsets and diarrhea, toothaches and all manner of other human maladies. Did you think he never hit his thumb with a hammer when learning to carpenter? Involuntary erections (a sign of health rather than sickness but nonetheless an inconvenience of the body), ingrown toenails/hangnails... Not saying he was unusually sick, but I'm pretty sure he was at least afflicted as much as the average person.

The NASB has a superscript note that says, "sickness".

My guess is no. Did Mary spend sleepless nights because of colic? Or all of the childhood diseases? I don't think so.

There is a tension here between Jesus taking on our infirmities and Jesus our Example. What infirmities? He became hungry, thirsty, sleepy, tired. Sure. But I would say no to sickness. He was to be our Example for good health as well. And if He became ill, He would/could not have used His divine powers for self-advantage. That was against the rules.

Of course He did not get sick.

His hair did not fall out, none of it went gray.

He never farted, had diarrhea.

His fingernails never got broken.

Never had a mole or a wart or a pimple or a boil.

Never stubbed His toe, or grazed His knuckle.

No lice, fleas, mosquitos, black flies, bed bugs, or any other insect ever bit Him.

Never bit His tongue while chewing.

Never shivered when He was cold.

Indeed His skin cells never wore out and rubbed of, never sweated, didn't have BO, in the morning His hair was always in place, no morning-breath for Him.
