My father was in the Navy during WWII and during that time learned to eat just about everything with ketchup, including eggs. Shipboard food wasn't always the freshest and ketchup went a long way in hiding "off" flavors. Unfortunately it was a bane to my mother who felt this was a slight to her cooking. But poppy used ketchup on his own cooking too.LOL

I don't like ketchup.

I would rather have Marie Sharp's hot sauce!! Yum!

On eggs, I prefer HP sauce as well.

Gravy (and cheese curds if you can find them) on fries

I also like HP sauce. But it has to be the UK HP sauce, not the HP sauce made here in the US.

There is a difference?

The one we get has that insignia from the British Crown. Is that the English one?

Well they are supposed to me the same. But as far as I'm concerned there is a taste difference. Product company Heinz makes both the UK and the US sauces. I just read where the factory in the UK closed and moved to The Netherlands. Who knows what it will taste like now.

I used to pick tomatoes. They would be put in big huge bins in the tomato fields. They would be left sitting in the bins all day long in the 90+ degree heat and then would be so ripe they would just be turning rotten, squished and dripping then taken to the processing plant for making ketchup. So ketchup is made from half rotten tomatoes. The more ripe and turning rotten the better. Still like ketchup? scared

Do you want to know where Chocolate Milk comes from?

...and it isn't from chocolate cows either....

While at PUC, I worked on the farm....When out dated milk came back to the farm, it was repasturized and placed in the milk made for chocolate...

I'd say that a good 10-20% of the milk was outdated and repasturized.....and placed in the chocolate...

Well the best ketchup I have used is the stuff I made from my own home-made tomatoes. It is not too hard to grow tomatoes. Even people in apartments with a patio can do it. Making it and canning it isn't difficult either and it is great for prostate health. I steer toward the organic ketchups in the store, they cost more but I believe they are better for prostate health.

As far as chocolate milk goes... well we stay with the soy variety. Hopefully it isn't made from rotten soy beans.

I use ketchup ('tomato sauce' here, and with less or no sugar) on almost nothing. Maybe a meat pie or sausage roll if I have one, but that's reasonably rare. The family has it on chips ('french fries' there, or possibly 'freedom fries') but I don't. Actually, it *is* very nice on a sandwich with Nutmeat (a Sanitarium vegetarian product). Some people like to mash Nutmeat and tomato sauce together, but I prefer the texture of sliced Nutmeat. Mind you, it goes pretty well with sliced fresh tomatos too.
