If the participation rate normally is around 30%, that would mean 15%, or about 1 in 8 former felons would vote. It's not so much the number of votes as, as someone said in the article, it's a step toward re-integrating people into society. Even beyond that, I linked the article because it is an example of a person doing something that is likely to actively hurt his partisan political interests, simply because it is the right thing to do.
