Dr. Shane Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I received a personalized photograph of President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush that says "Thank you for your steadfast support. Working together we are building a better, stronger, safer America." It has me scratching my head because the only support I ever gave him was $25 in 2004 and that certainly doesn't merit a personalized photograph. Well, actually I guess the photograph is for my wife since it says "Mrs. Shane Linder". Even on prestige photo paper. I guess it is worth sticking in the scrap book. Your defence of Bush has been incredibly steadfast. You should get a Billbooard sized pic for you efforts. The second part about a stronger and safer America is certainly in question. I guess it is worth sticking in the scrap book. Yes, be sure to keep it. You'll be glad you did. My dad got a signed personalized letter from a young California lawyer named Richard M. Nixon who was appealing for votes. My father, however, threw it away, not realizing it would have been a piece of American history. Later, about 1974, and then again after Nixon's death, he wished he had kept it. The passage of time has a way of changing people's opinions in the most surprising ways. I think a lot of people will be surprised at how history will judge our George W. Bush in about 15 years. People forget how hated and ridiculed Abraham Lincoln was during his presidency. Now he is considered by most as our greatest president. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Dr. Shane Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Well the picture came from the GOP, not Bush himself. I sent them $25 during the 2004 campaign and they have send me so much stuff, mostly junk but some nice stuff like calenders, that I think they have spent more than my $25 just in postage. I was so disappointed with the the Republican congress, the Administration's management of the war and unwillingness to defend itself that I really haven't felt a reason to send them any more support. In addition to that, the GOP doesn't help any of the Republican's candidates that run in our district against our incumbent Congressmen. I think it is because he is a Hispanic and all our candidates have been white for the longest time. If we nominate a Hispanic to run against him, maybe the GOP will give us some money.
