Steve Murphy Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Well the time has come for all this frivolity to stop. We (Lazarus & Steve ) are confused. We want your help to decide who should beome the lead partner in this dynamic duo. Lazarus' real name is Steve Murphy. Steve Murphy is quite fond of Lazarus but feels he need to grow up a bit. He likes the avitar and likes the fact that he has 800+ posts. He's wondering whether he should keep Lazarus as his personal attack dog, or have him die in a mysterious accident, have him arrested, deported, sent to Gitmo, take up a new pastorate in Falujah or some other future. So I (Steve Murphy) have decided to let my cyber-family decide Lazarus' fate! Quote Shine your Light on the World!

We've had dual personality posters in the past that were quite fun and controversial. But I don't think anyone should protest your posting both ways since you have said you are both. Go for it. Neil D Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Quite frankly, I tend to think that Steve Murphy needs to go by the ways side and be a spectator. Lazurus was known to be a pastor, and needed to be the front for a pastor who occassionally gave some good information that was quite practical but occasionally went against the norm of SDA values. Nice thing was that no one knew where he was...just someplace in Maryland. I fear that someone could make trouble for pastors who are on this forum...And I am aware of one pastor who it has happened to before on another SDA forum....... That would have been the choice that I would have made, but it is not an option. Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
olger Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Murphy is cool. Lazarus tended to be paranoid. Keep Murph! Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

So I (Steve Murphy) have decided to let my cyber-family decide Lazarus' fate! I think it would be good to keep both but make them like two different people if that is possible. I like the Lazarus personality even if it tended to be a little paranoid or whatever. I'd like to see the real Murphy now but maybe Lazarus can actually be the more honest or spontaneous of the two. Try it anyway and see which one fits you the best. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. David Koot Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 By the way, Laz/Murph, lemme tell you how I broke this case. The blog and the email were circumstantial evidence. Not enough. But then I wanted to smoke you out, so I mentioned it to see what your response would be. The Lazarus persona would have responded promptly and directly. I looked for a response. There was none. That was incriminating. So between Redwood and myself, it ratcheted up some. Still no response. Then, statements were made by Laz/Murph. However, the statements side-stepped the question. It was crystal clear then. Lazarus/Murphy, as a pastor, would not lie. The absence of a clear denial, coupled with the side-stepping and the suggestion of reasonable doubt, was the clincher. At that point, it was a done deal. When Amelia posted the IP numbers, of course there it was as confirmation for others. So, Laz et al., you gotta be good to get by us on this board lol. Quote

Steve Murphy Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 In reality, I expected you guys to work it out real quick. Lazarus lives, pastor in Silver Spring, Murphism. Lazarus, even said to Redwood that he was reading blink which is exactly what I said on my blog. When I saw that for some it wasn't as clear cut as I thought it would be I decided I would milk it a bit. The Stan came in with the email back and forth, then Neil D. If Ameila hadn't done the IP thing then we could have kept going for a couple more days. It was fun. If I'd really set out to cover my tracks then we this could have gone of indefinitely. Its seems like te concensus so far is that I need to get rid of myself! Quote Shine your Light on the World!

Amelia Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Laz posts as the man. Steve Murphy posts as the pastor. I know many pastors feel like they are pigeonholed as a "pastor" only and that people don't see them as men anymore. But in reality there is a man in there who just wants to say things as man at times and not as a pastor. So there is always going to be a dual personality. And you should be able to interact as both when the need arises. Woody Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 WELL SAID AMELIA. This is very true. And a good point to make. Laz needs the freedom to say things here and not be held to a certain hat that he may wear. He holds the responsibility of being many things. A Black American. An SDA Pastor. A Husband. A Father (I think) A Liberal. A conservative. No wonder he is confused!! I would suggest that he needs more than two online name and personality. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
