I love my mom and all, but does anyone else have the experience of when they talk with *elderly* folks, that the topic du jour always seems to be a weather report or bowel habits or *the good ol' days*?

I don't really mind listening to stories of yore, in fact I very much enjoy them, but, geez, my mom lives about 5 blocks south of me, and the weather doesn't change much in that short space. And bowel habits...well... uh...I really don't need a report on the latest food that gives flatulence. And it isn't just for 5 minutes that she gives me these reports - they can go on and on for a good hour or more. And trying to change the topic doesn't work very well...

I remember my grandparents, especially grandmothers, talked about these same things.. and now it's my mom. Does anyone else here experience this with their senior citizen parent(s)? Is this what people can expect from me in 40 years???

p.s. I know that NOT all senior citizens are like this....but the prevalence of it just seems to be getting more often...

But ya gotta love 'em anyway!!!! 9111-1.gif

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

I think they may have forgotten the rest...

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
