[edit] Both of these songs can bring a tear to the eye of a dinky-di Aussie, as can Waltzing Matilda. Particularly if you are on foreign shores when you hear them.

Thanks Planey. In my opinion, the Seekers were/are the best folk group in the world. They stood out as an exclamation point in an era that was moving into darkness musically.

Durham's voice is without peer, in my opinion. Sandi Patti, Karen Carpenter, Judy Collins, etc....she has them all beat.

Agreed. Judith recorded some jazz albums in the interim before the Seekers reunited. They are definitely worth a listen. She recorded as "The Hottest Jazz Band in Town" and "The Hot Jazz Duo". Check them out.

Yep. Our family sings together (we cut a CD in 2003) and last fall we mastered "World of our Own" by the Seekers. First time singing it was at a big Catholic Hoedown north of here. The stage was actually a large hay wagon. It was fun. We'll record World of our Own this summer..
