Taylor Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I am gone this summer oversease so I can't go, unfortunately. But in my opinion, Arizona has one of the best campmeetings. The conference president and his wife are awsome! We went one year and just loved it! Quote

ChildofChrist Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 I grew up attending Michigan Campmeeting. The kids got to meet in tents. Then when Dad came to collect me, we went to the worship service in this H-U-G-E building. The seats were made from 2 x 8 planks and there was sandy dirt for the floor. There were windows high up near the ceiling and open doorways down each side. There was always someone from the family staying for the entire 10 days so we'd have Sabbath dinner with them. (Most every year I got car sick riding there.) Then I experienced Florida Campmeeting. The first time I drove up from Miami with my two children, I was disappointed and so hot I was ready to melt. No air-conditioning. Went home the same day. Only a 6 hour drive each way. Then when I moved to central FL, they were in the process of beginning to install A/C. I have stayed in the tents a couple of years with all the comforts. Extra large fan, a portable frig, and even a small microwave. Attended all the meetings and those are memories I get to enjoy in years to come. This year there will be Friday thru Memorial day and the following Friday and Sabbath. They are doing some work on the Academy buildings. Due to my sister's health, we'll be attending campmeeting via the internet in our church if at all. My hope is to eventually attend campmeetings throughout a summer if I can find such in a managable travel route. It is good to go to campmeetings because you never know who you might get to see again or meet for the first time. Quote Wakan Tanka Kici Un ~~Child of Christ~~
