Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted May 19, 2007 Members Posted May 19, 2007 There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face. -Bernard Williams Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Administrators Gail Posted May 24, 2007 Administrators Posted May 24, 2007 Here's one. It's titled, Girl with Bamboo Doll Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
D. Allan Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Touching, Gail. If we could take her to toys-R-us... but we can do something... can't we? Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Administrators Gail Posted May 24, 2007 Administrators Posted May 24, 2007 My son found this girl in a village so remote that in the rainy season you can only reach it by helicopter. In his work he travels to places like this (Belleh Kalata) to help provide aid. This place is so isolated that it was left out of much of the develop aid given to Liberia. He loves taking pictures of African children Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted May 24, 2007 Administrators Posted May 24, 2007 If we could take her to toys-R-us... but we can do something... can't we? If you would like to contribute to the NGO my son works for, it is Samaritan's Purse. He is the Field Finance Manager/Accountant for SP Liberia Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

D. Allan Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 It is in London, on the edge of Hyde Park. Here is a funding site: http://www.fund4horses.org/info.php?id=348 and here is a 'really-really-good' BBC article with more information about the unveiling in Nov., 2004: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4037873.stm "It honours all animals used in war, including horses, dogs, dolphins, elephants, pigeons and even glow worms.".... The inscription reads: "Animals In War. This monument is dedicated to all the animals that served and died alongside British and allied forces in wars and campaigns throughout time. "They had no choice." -from the BBC site. Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

D. Allan Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 Children in War. What choice do they have? Do 'adults' think it is cute to teach Israeli children to endorse these 'gifts' to Palestinian children? Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
