Administrators Gail Posted May 24, 2007 Administrators Posted May 24, 2007 Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bono, George Clooney- you see them plastered in newspapers and magazines everywhere, trying to raise money for worthy causes such as AIDS, Third World development and Darfur. Do you think it really helps the causes? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Dr. Shane Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 From what I understand, these stars use these causes to boost their own image and marketability. It certainly does help the star, now as to whether it helps the charity, that is another issue. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Amelia Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I know that George Clooney not only lends his name and clout but he also goes first hand to the countries in need and makes many reports to American government sub commities. He is pretty much a lobbyist for the hungry and homeless. Bono is another who does more than just lend his name. He not only goes but gets other high profile people to go and help too. This guy gets presidents and prime ministers active in relief projects. I don't admire "stars" as a rule but these two are worthy of being activist heros. Sorry, I can't say anything nice about Pitt and Jolie Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
