thoughts on building non-adventist communities? and having links somewhere to learn more about adventism?

A non religious outreach, following the example of Christ

i.e.

He mingled with people, won their confidence, then said "come follow me"

I am looking for input for a couple of reasons..

1- It is the right thing to do

2- Am doing a seminar on this in a couple of weeks.

3- It is part of the mission of our New 501-c3 corporation.

An example i have in beta.. www.africanwebdate.com this is free to everyone in Africa who joins, I advertise in africa, and at the bottom people can sign up for Bible Studies and a few other things on a rotating bases... not sure all the ads will show up if you are in North America etc..

We are not doing enough on the internet for Jesus, I am convinced of that..

We have a newly baptized member in our church who has a burden for addicted people. He and one of our pastors are teaming up [with church board approval] to start 12-step programs on our side of town, where there's been nothing so far. Alcoholics Anonymous is aupporting this venture, as well as the Veterans Admin. among other organizations.

Yeah, Stan, that is what I have found too. In fact, I counseled a church group recently to 'take off your church hats' when they do outreach. Get out there and relate to folks as real people, interested in them. It works!

I doubt that is accurate information. I don't doubt that was said. I just doubt it is accurate.

AA's Six Tradition:

AA's Tenth Tradition:

Unless it is an actual AA group, AA will not endorse or criticize it. AA does not even take a position on whether or not the court system should sentence people to AA attendance because the court system is not AA and thus AA has no opinion on what they do or do not do.

There is another AA member in our church and I have been after him for months to start an AA meeting at our church. Our church board has indicated we could use one of the rooms for that if we want.

I don't know if more websites is the answer, although it could be. I think more advertising on the web would go a long way. We, Amazing Facts, It Is Written, 3ABN, Hope, SafeTV and many other organizations have wonderful sites but few people surfing the web know about them.

One Church I know, has meetings on Saturday nite for AA & NA etc, reason being is Saturday nite is the toughest nite for some people, if they can make it through that, they feel semi-safe for another week...
