Moderators John317 Posted June 17, 2007 Moderators Posted June 17, 2007 Sometimes some people in the church forget why we call ourselves adventists. Unfortunately we can live as if, and even believe, the Second Coming is not about to happen. I did this for many years. My own view of the Second Coming is that when it happens depends to a great degree on the SDA church, whether we repond to God in true faith. So far the church as a whole hasn't done this. We can have the idea that God is obligated to come at a certain time, but this is a tragic mistake. He is waiting for something. What that something is... well, each of us needs to be convicted personally of what that something is, through Bible study and examination of what the Spirit of Prophecy says about it. It's not that God doesn't want to bring an end to sin, but if He brings it to an end prematurely, before the harvest is ripe, there will be many people lost who are sitting on the fence or haven't heard yet or made up their mind. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
olger Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Praise God, He will come again. An Adventist is one who watches the horizon in expectation, and lives ready to meet Jesus. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
