Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted June 17, 2007 Members Posted June 17, 2007 In the Seattle Times today is a story of an Episcopalian priest who happens to be black and a woman. She claims to be both a practicing Christian AND a practicing Muslim. She worships on Fridays with the Muslims and on Sunday with her parisheners. Quote: In March 2006, she said her shahada — the profession of faith — testifying that there is only one God and that Mohammed is his messenger. She became a Muslim. **snip** Redding's bishop, the Rt. Rev. Vincent Warner, says he accepts Redding as an Episcopal priest and a Muslim, and that he finds the interfaith possibilities exciting. Her announcement, first made through a story in her diocese's newspaper, hasn't caused much controversy yet, he said. Seems to me to be a frightfully dangerous integration of Muslim practice and Christianity. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
