Hanging On

Eleven people, ten men and one woman, were rescued from the top of a burning building and were dangling from a rope under a helicopter. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all and was threatening to unravel so everyone agreed that at least one had to leave quickly, otherwise they were all going to fall.

As they looked at each other none were unable to name who that one person should be. Finally the woman gave a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman; she was used to always giving up everything for her husband and kids, and throughout her life for men in general.

As she finished her speech, all the men started clapping....
