Some may understand why I am asking this..

Do you consider the 3 Angeles Messages only for members of the Adventist Church or is it a non-denominational message? (ie for all everyone?)

If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses.

The Three Angels' Messages are for the whole world. They are actually three separate messages found in Rev. 14: 6-12. These messages also include the message of a fourth angel, in Rev. 18: 1,2. God the Father had Jesus give them to His angel who in turn gave them to the Apostle John to put them in the Bible in order to be a blessing to every single human on the face of the earth.

They are definitely for everyone, not just for the SDA Church. However, having said that, we need to be clear about what we mean. We don't mean that everyone presently has an equally correct understanding of all that God intends for people to understand in or through those messages. We do mean that God wants everyone on earth to learn the truth about these messages and to accept and practice them as soon as possible.

To fully appreciate and get the maximum benefit out of those messages, all must have a clear view of

A) Who are the three angels of Rev. 14 and that other angel of Rev. 18 ;

B) What is the everlasting Good News;

C) What is the hour of God's Judgement;

D) What does it mean to worship the Creator;

E) What or who is Babylon;

(F) In what way Babylon is "fallen";

(G) What is the intoxicating wine of Babylon;

(H) What is the indentity of the sea-beast of Rev. 13;

(I) What does it mean to worship the sea-beast;

(J) Who is the earth-beast of Rev. 13;

(K) What is the mark of the beast and how do we avoid accepting it.

These messages are for the whole world for two primary reasons:

(1) Prepare the whole world for the return of Christ in glory, the greatest event in the whole history of mankind.

2) Warn everyone of what it means to worship the beast in order to avoid the seven last plagues, or judgements, of God which will fall on the beast and on everyone who worships and obeys the beast instead of worshipping and obeying the Creator.

The very essence of the three messages is the everlasting gospel, or good news, about God, Who He is, What He is like, and what He has done and is doing now to make it possible for us to be in His eternal Kingdom.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

The message may be for them ... but they are not welcomed until they have repented and changed their lifestyle. Then we can welcome them into our church to hear the message.

Does that make sense ?!!!

Huh?

The greatest want of the world is the want of men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true & honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty..., men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.{Ed 57.3}

The honest answer is ...Not really.

So here we have the sinner, diseased and sick...And we have the Cure...and we have Him in the Hospital....But they can't get into the hospital until they have cured themselves of thier sickness....According to Redwood...

Luckily, the Cure doesn't necessiarily stay in the Hospital...He wanders out into the community to reach others....

Set Three Angels' Messages side by side with these messages because they are closely related:

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes." Mal. 4: 5 (also see v. 4)

"In those days there appeared John the Baptist, preaching in the Wilderness of Judea, and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt. 3: 1-2.

"Jesus came into Galilee preaching the good news of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news." Mark 1: 15

"From that time Jesus began to preach, crying out, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand..

"And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness among the people." Matt. 4: 17, 23

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Redwood is being ironic. He is right in the sense that this is too often the way the Three Angel's Messages are communicated and used, which of course is not the way God wants them to be communicated.

Satan knows that as long as he can get people to kick back and not accept and not communciate the Three Angels Messages, he can delay the Second Advent. So far he has been successful at this.

Huh?

Redwood is being subtle-- using irony. In other words, he is trying to show how they should not be communicated but how he believes they usually are, and he has a good point. But we have to first accept these messages ourselves individually and practice them before we can hope to communicate them. The problem is that as a church, I don't think we have even understood them or accepted them, much less given them.

Do you agree, Redwood?

Who's version? bwink

Let's just take the messages as they read in the book of Revelation. What do they mean and what is their purpose according to the book of Revelation?

They are for everyone, irrespective of denomination, and irrespective of religion or faith. However, it is obvious that if one is an atheist or if one does not yet beleive in Christ, those things will change very fast once a person understands and accepts the messages. In other words, to accept the messages will automatically mean a change in one's thinking and in one's behavior.

A study Bible I have says that the messages mean that God is about to judge the pagan world. Is that true? Is that what these messages are all about?

Praise GOD. And I was speaking of the condition of our church ... NOT what I agree with or promote. I promote what you have said.

ONE smart guy. You have hit exactly what I was saying. Of course ... you and I have a little history of going back and forth . So we have a good understanding of each other. The rest may not have this advantage. And I do mean advantage.

Hey ... It is good to be on the same side of the fence for a change.

I also--not bragging but explaining-- have years of experience in analyzing the written language, poetry, discursive writing, short stories, essays, studying rhetoric, teaching English composition, etc.

I'm sure we would be on the same side more often than you know at this point. The reason we have disagreements is often, I'm positive, due to the writing wall that separates us. All we have to go by are words on a screen and they can sometimes be terribly, discouragingly opaque.

Communication takes many forms, not just words on this wall, but also tone, which is eliminated from this method of communication. Retorical questions are often missed, because tone is heavily factored into the communication. Other things missed, body movements, hand gestures, loudness/softness of voice, facial expressions...all factor into the communication equations...

tis a wonder that there are not more misunderstandings....

Perhaps you did not understand what I meant by writing wall. I mean the wall that is between us because it only has words written on it--abstract symbols which point more or less successfully to yet more abstract ideas. Thank you, anyway, for spelling out all of the individual contributing factors that never fail to help make the wall of words effectively opaque.
