olger Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 How many of you will be participating in our favorite July pastime? We are going over to a farmer friend of ours. Every year Big Mike spends $2500 on fireworks and puts on a free display for the neighbors in our community. Last year we had about 80-people there (mostly neighbors). Nice potluck and some good fireworks afterwards. I'll be helping him set the stuff off. A couple years ago someone asked Big Mike, "Aren't you afraid you'll get in trouble setting off all those fireworks?" He replied, "Well it's always possible, but not too likely. The fire chief, the commander of the local Ohio State Patrol, and others are in the audience." End of conversation We usually have some singing while we wait for dark. Kind of a showcase for local talent. Our family will be asked to sing a couple songs (we made a CD back in 2003) Good times for sure... olger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Kountzer Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 We live just outside the city limits where fireworks are legal. it's right at 10pm here, and it sounds like a small war outside. Fireworks going off everywhere. Good food, good rest. I wish I had put in for vacation for thursday and friday, but I didn't. Oh well... The security guys have cruised through a few times but don't seem to be doing anything about the illegal fireworks. I guess they are saving themselves for a fire or lost limb. 8:34 and still light out. The really big stuff wont start until around 9 or so.
