Woody Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Hey ... I was looking for a forum to place politics facing us in the US. All I could find was "World" Affairs. Since the topic I had in mine was just US and not World ... I didn't know where to put it. Could I suggest that we just drop the "world" part and just have a Forum on "Affairs". cricket Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Isn't the United States part of the world? When something newsworthy happens in the United States, isn't it happening in the world? Is the world all-inclusive, or is it not? If this site has a sub-forum that is primarily focused on U.S. news, should it not also have sub-forums for each of the 245 or so other entities considered to be countries? Does world news pertain only to news that affects directly or indirectly 51% or more of these aforementioned countries? Why bother to make a distinction at all? Quote

I just didn't think that just because it affected US that it affected the world I guess. I would hate to be so big headed that what was going on here would effect the world. But maybe it does. But since a large portion of our membership is in America,this forum tends towords everything American. So go ahead and post your post. Dr. Shane Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Harry Anderson's painting of Jesus knocking on the UN building is appropriate for the section. The UN includes almost every nation in the world as does this section of C/A. Politics rubs some people the wrong way and this section helps to keep political discussions out of the other sections.
