I WANT MY SAFE TV!

Do you remember M TV's slogan back in the early 80s when they were trying to get on with all the cable providers? It was of a man shouting, "I want my M TV!"

Well, if you are a subscriber to Sky Angel, you will soon lose your Safe TV unless you have high speed internet and are willing to go to IPTV and pay $15/month for that service.

AdventistSat sells a 36" dish that allows a person to receive several Christian channels (and a handful of secular ones) with no monthly fees. Many Adventist homes already own one.

SafeTV is operated by a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Unlike 3ABN and Hope Channel, it is not 24/7 religious programming. The Sabbath hours are full of such programming but during the week it is family-friendly programing without sex, violence or vulgarity. It has a lot of good programs and has been one of Sky Angel's most popular.

I encourage everyone that either has the AdventistSat dish or is considering buying one to write to SafeTV and let them know you want them to partner with AdventistSat. If you contribute to SafeTV financially, like I do, put a reminder in with each financial gift you give. Tell them, "I WANT MY SAFE TV!"

Adventist sat may not want to have anything to do with sitcom reruns. Much of safe tv is marketed toward none adventists, especially those living in Arkansas.

I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs.

AdventistSat has already expressed interest in a partnership with SafeTV. That is not an issue. SafeTV is not convinced enough people would watch them.

Safe TV gave up its UHF license so it is no longer a local channel in Arkansas. It is on several satellites across the globe but in North America is only carried by Sky Angel.

I am not too familiar with sitcom reruns on Safe TV. I am familiar with programs like Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures, Modern Health Science and the Bible, Purely Music, Native New Day, Critter Gitters, Fishing & Outdoor Adventures, Rolling Art Television, Today's Homeowner With Danny Lipford, U.S. Farm Report, Wild About Animals, DW Bilingual News, Classic Arts, Kaye's Quilting Friends, Animal Rescue, Laura McKenzie's Traveler, Xtreme Life TV, Bloomin' in the Garden, Creation Discoveries, Techno 2100, Treasures of the World and the like

I like safe tv. I usually just watch it on sabbath, but I am glad they are around doing what they do. it's about format. I can only offer a layman's perspective. I'm no tv expert. ksbn's format, content, is good, but different from what the other channels on advent sat are doing.

Dish network has Safe TV as well as 3ABN.

Channels 9710 is 3ABN and channel 9711 is safe TV. The entire 9700 range are family religious stations to good family TV. However you have to point one of the two satelites at a different satilite. You will not get many of the local upper UHF stations if you do that.

So it is a trade off.

This is true if you have a contract of some sorts with sky angel/dominion satellite tv. I bought a so called lifetime subscription with sky angel in '98. I had sky angel before I had regular dish tv. Dominion sky angel is going through a lot of changes. All this has been discussed in depth on this msg board, and on others.

Word has it that sky angel is leaving dish and satellite tv soon, and going to iptv or internet tv. This is what Shane is referring to.

Just as a note, since SafeTV gave up its UHF license, the call letters KSBN went with it. So Safe TV is not longer KSBN. Those call letters are no where to be found on their web site although search engines will still use them to take one to Safe TV.

I am not aware that SafeTV is also on DISH. We just startede subscribing to DISH Family and it is not in our line up. What DISH package is it in?

The only connection safe tv has with dish network, that I am aware of, is through sky angel.
