Anybody who actually wants to discuss Leviticus can do so on this thread.

Actually EDD I do not have any interest in discussing Leviticus for I consider it to be a legal and moral code pertaining to the old covenant.

Would you also hold that is has not significance for Christians today?

I believe that Jesus and the apostles picked out some principles. What you and I may pick out may be quite subjective.

I appreciate your contributions to CA & Hope you stay around a long while.

I believe that the books of Exodus and Leviticus taken together provide a beautiful tapestry of the true meaning of "Christ." The whole tabernacle, priesthood, presence of God, forgiveness, atonement, unclean, Worship, redemption, cleansing, God leading, sacrifice, mercy thing is wonderfully woven into the imagery. Leviticus helps us to understand the ministry of Jesus on earth as well as in Heaven.

On the other hand, as far as it's application to life today is concerned, like Melvin, I believe it is "a legal and moral code pertaining to the old covenant."

I would enjoy reading your exposition of the meaning of Leviticus to us today.

Thanks,

WayneV

The purpose of Leviticus is to codify in a way our finite minds can understand the universal spiritual principles on which Abba's government is founded.

It is the corrupt applications of these principles which gives the Adversary his power to perform what to our minds are "miracles".

Studying Leviticus and Deuteronomy will give the serious student a clear, practical understanding of the application and functioning of blessings, cursings, and rules by which this war is being played.

Mikveh for instance is more than ritual cleansing after a woman's moon times, it is the ritual cleansing from tainted blood, corrupted blood. For all covenants with the Most High are Blood Covenants. That is what was broken in Eden, a Blood Covenant.

The Bible tells us that life is in the blood and the blood is life. Thus all ritual cleansing is so that we do not approach the Most High with tainted blood (corrupted... IE death) on our hands, person, or heart.

Clio,

I have done a study on "covenant," including blood covenant. But I guess I missed where scriptures indicate that it was a blood covenant that was broken in the Garden of Eden. Could you explain this further?

You also state that all covenants with the Most High are blood covenants. Didn't God make some pretty powerful promises that didn't involve blood?

Thanks for your indulgence.

You are applying temporal to spiritual. I don't believe women's menstrual blood is tainted any more than you do, in the sense you mean.

However, from a spiritual sense which is bound up with life and death, it is tainted.

Hold on and follow for a second.

Menstrual blood is blood that is no longer capable of nurturing and supporting life in the portion of the creative process our Creator generously allows us to participate in.

Several places in Genesis the Bible explicitly states that the "life is in the blood and the blood is life".

Menstrual blood no longer contains life, it contains only death and thus is expelled from the body. From a spiritual perspective, ritual cleansing is/was important because we are then approaching the Most High who is the source of all life.

In my reverance and awe of Him, I would choose in every respect to approach Him in as much understanding of the principles He has laid out in the Pentateuch as well as in the New Testament. It is the principle of mikveh that is important and the understanding we have followed His instruction for cleansing ourself of death before entering His Presence.

Praise Jesus He handled this for us on Calvary. That is why we are "washed in the Blood of the Lamb".

Greetings Wayne -

Promises and covenants are two different things. Promises are based on the guaranteed good word and reputation of someone. Covenants are bound, ratified and made good by something precious and powerful and invoke a spiritual application upon which the Spiritual realm and Abba's government functions.

Corrupted covenants carry spiritual authority and power in the Adversary's realm as well, but Praise Abba, His Authority and Power overcome all.

First to understand how the covenant broken in Eden was a blood covenant, follow these texts and apply them.

Genesis 9:4, Genesis 9:5, Leviticus 17:11, Lev. 17:14, and Deut. 12:23 are all Abba speaking and all of them say basically this: "But flesh with the life thereof, [which is] the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

Leviticus 17:14 is the most explicit: For [it is] the life of all flesh; the blood of it [is] for the life thereof:...

So... life is blood, blood is life...

Genesis 2:7 tells us how Adam was made: And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

We all know it, it's one of the first things we learn. But think about it.

Man was formed of the dust of the ground. He was all there, but he was not yet a living soul. Abba had to add something from within Himself and insert it into man in order for man to live.

We call it the "breath of life" because that is how it's rendered in the creation story. But Abba is explicit and tells us that this spark, this breath, is contained within us in our blood. This is so because He said so, and mankind is definitely contained in the group of "all flesh" in Leviticus 17.

By the very act of Creation and bestowing His Personal spark of life into us, Abba created us with a Blood Covenant. This was further confirmed to Adam and Even when Abba told them that to eat of the tree and they would surely die.

It was not the fruit of the tree was poisonous. Clearly, for they didn't die immediately. It was the treasonous act which violated the Blood Covenant which permitted them to live and gave them life in the first place.

Only the voluntary spilling of innocent blood, from a volunteer acceptable in the Eyes of the Most High, could replace the broken covenant.

Initially we were to all have been of the family of Adam, created to grow and learn until we became Friends of the Most High. Adam violated the covenant with the Most High, and therefore a New Covenant had to be established. The old one was shattered beyond repair, because all the laws which are the foundation of Abba's Government are based on love, loyalty, and life.

The New Covenant, foretold by the shed blood of a perfect lamb, didn't re-establish the Old Covenant, it was broken beyond repair and all of Adam's children were then subject to the Law.

Instead, a New Covenant was established. One where each individual works out his own salvation with "fear and trembling" before the Most High, under the shed Blood of the Lamb. This Blood Covenant adopts us into the Personal Family of the Most High, making us literally joint-heirs with Jesus and no longer lower than the angels.

To save us, we are elevated to His Personal Family, beyond even the arch-angels. It is through this covenant we are offered the "mind of Christ" for we are now a single entity inhabiting two bodies. We are bone of His bone, flesh of His flesh, united through the Blood shed voluntarily and accepted by the Most High as sufficient.

Clio,

Thanks for your exposition. I see where you are coming from now.
