Woody Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I haven't read this site. But I do appreciate seeing this thread. I have been pleased to see the improved quality and responsible record on the environment by the Republicans. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Dr. Shane Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 A number of Republicans are distanting themselves from the current Administration. That spells trouble for the Democrats whose plan to win in '08 is to run against Bush (who obviously isn't running). However even the Bush Admin. deserves some credit on the environment. It has been slow to come around on global warming but has made a lot of progress on that issue. They have always held a good track record on funding R&D for new energy sources. While Bush was governor of Texas he put into place a program to build wind turbines in the western dessert which is still in place and has added hundreds of them to the power grid.
