this is a small rant

I'm getting tired of seeing so many pictures of CATS IN CHARGE on the forum. Some of us do like dogs (or snakes or birds, etc) better than cats...but we don't inundate the forum with cutesy pics of them.

Cats carry more germs in their mouths than dogs, and most everyone has heard of *cat scratch fever* - that's not a *minor* problem if it happens.

Yes, there are some nice cats around...the ones that STAY IN THE HOUSE! Cats are not endearing to me when they poop in my yard and garden, catch birds, and yowl at night, making sounds like a woman screaming.

And since cats make a mess outdoors, the owners ought to be charged for a license, just the same as dog owners.

Awwwwwww......your sweet! Yes, they are sweet, and inside cats too, ocassionally they step outdoors to explore the grass and bugs and try to catch a lizard, but fail each time! LOL They are better at playing with their play fake mice.

That's ok Redwood! We like dogs too! We have a Golden Retriever that is my jogging buddy, and he is a true friend, in that he never refuses or says no when I want someone to jog with me!

I have just about had it with puppies. My blind little puppy is pooping and peeing all over and particularing annoying with his tearing up of our clothing and furniture and carpets. Being blind it is hard to fault him. The poor guy runs into the walls and furniture it probably ticks him off so he goes and pees and poops.

One thing we really have to watch is that we don't move anything that is on the floor or he will knock his noggin for sure on it.

Do blind cats do any better?

LOL I don't know Redwood! But, I sure wouldn't want to have a blind cat, cat poo does not smell good at all! Eeeky! I can just imagine! Anyways, it is sweet of you to take the little guy in being that he is blind. It's common for puppies to chew on furniture, etc. When I had puppies, and had a few in the house before, they would chew on my furniture as well. They are pretty destructive when puppies, but that's their nature. I noticed they calmed down on that when they got older. On cats, they destroy with their claws. So, I have to keep my cats nails trimmed to keep them from snagging and tearing my furniture, and they are not allowed on my counter tops or table, because I don't want to find cat hair in my food! LOL But, my cats, suprisingly, do not shed much hair. In the summertime, cats shed more hair, and in the wintertime, I don't hardly even see any hair. They are shedding very little this summer, and I think it's because of the cat food I buy them. I pay more, but they eat less, and shed less. Ok, enough of cats! LOL

Thanks Denise. But it is my wife that deserves the credit. She has to do a lot of yelling to get much attention in this house. The dog is blind so he can't see . He goes mostly by sound. I have a 75% hearing loss. So ... she has to yell pretty loud for me. So between a blind puppy and a deaf husband ... well she deserves a lot of credit for taking both of us in.
