We are certainly told in the Bible that Moses' wife, Zipporah had dark skin - and that Miriam hated her sister-in-law for this reason. She was punished with leprosy for her bad attitude. (It was almost as if God was saying to her, "You like white skin? I'll give you white skin!")

I wonder how many sermons featured this story during the bad old days of segregation and bans on mixed-race marriages.
