I am not Solomon, nor the son of Solomon, in fact I am not sure that I can even spell his name correct.

What I do know is that the "Theology Topics' are destroying the forum, as the Political section also comes close.....

Yet there are many fine people who live to discuss such matters, the pointing our of what is sin, the reproof of thoughts etc etc.

So it maybe best to create a brand new forum for such matters...

We have the server space to do such, having a couple of google ads will pay for the other expenses..

Other adventist forums have come to a halt, or close to it, over such issues... it is best not to have that happen here.

Keep in mind, most people are more eager for a community. Is it wrong to be a strong fundlementalist? strong otherwise? Of course not, but it can hurt those that are not needed/wanting that.

Thoughts on a domain name? I do have access to several in inventory.

We now have a 501c-3 for those wanting to support the new forum or this forum with a gift.

I agree, Stan, that the present Theology forums are a mess. I would love to join in a refreshing Bible study -- but every time I do go to the Theology section, and perhaps say something, the next thing I know, that forum is in the middle of a fight over such triviling things! And I leave. Why can't we discuss God's Word without fighting?

On the other hand, it seems that if there is no fight, there is no interest! Or am I wrong??

Hi Stan,

I enjoy having discussions about deep topics and the meanings of certain words in order to have clarity and thus be able to speak with confidence. Although it sometimes appears as bickering, we are going somewhere with our "madness." Everything that we discuss is related to something, even though it appears confusing at times. To on looker what is normal communications this appears as unchristian fighting, but it's not.

Those of us involved in this and who truly want to learn are not out to hurt anyone, but as in all hot topics, sometimes that happens. The discussions, the words and theology is not the offender, rather it's our inability at times, to be rational and just take what is dished out to us and process it as mature people. (Please see the thread, "You made me very angry!!!") I mean if we can't handle a few words from a heated discussion what are we going to do when persecution starts?

I don't say that to encourage misbehavior but to show that the responsibility also lies in the eyes/ears of the beholder/listener. Jesus said "Take heed how you hear" in other words, it's up to us individually to processes correctly what is said to us, either from humans, or for God in the scriptures, whether it's good or bad.

Here's why I am speaking out about this. (And I may be wrong) If you remove free speech or freedoms from a group of people because others are not happy then 2 things can happens: In so doing don't you make yourself a judge of those whose place of discussion is to be removed and don't you become a slave to those who demand their removal and so what you have is a state sponsored persecution, in a subtle form. Well, persecution might be strong, but let’s say a form of censorship. What if other's started to complain about having all these jokes on this forum? After all jesting is not right and why should it be allowed? You see what I mean Stan? It can get to the point where all these offended people are the ones who end up disassembling what this free market has created.

The way to deal with this is that if people don't like theology and the way it is discussed, then don't go to that thread. That's what I do in certain threads that I know I will strongly disagree. And that way they won't get called "lost" or "blind" or whatever, not that that is right either.

Finally, there is a time coming that theology will be of utmost importance to our people and CA can be known as a place to come and be well informed. Because when all is said and done there will be a lot of theology on this forum that will be able to be used in guiding people to make the right choices and not be deceived. Questions that will be asked of them by unbelievers will find their answers in this forum, because there are some pretty unique topics here that can be searched for those very answers. And who knows how many anonymous using are reading this and learning from it.

Anyway, as you can see it's not the topic of theology that is the issue, it's people like me with long replies and many thoughts that are the problem. It's a character trait that we blabber fingers have.

I don't know Stan....I like the theology topics. That is what makes it interesting....I think that sometimes there was some fighting, but that's not something I focus on....I focus on what each one is writing, and I learn from it. I love to read some deep spiritual discussions on this forum. I don't think that it's enough fighting to just stop the topic on here altogether. I think that if there is some fighting, where it gets overboard, maybe someone can step in and ask them to tone it down a little, but it's good to have deep spiritual discussions in here. I love to read it, and it's good for those who want to discuss or maybe just read in these deep topics. For the ones who can't handle it, maybe they should just go to another thread, or have another thread where the discussions on that particular topic discussed is more milder for those who can't handle the stronger discussions. This is my honest opinion and what I think... :)

I think the 12 Step forum is about dead. Perhaps my advertising dollars would be better spent advertising for a different forum. Would there be a link from C/A to this new forum? I think that would be a good way for people to find their way there.

Except that it goes on and on and on. Where is the artistry? In law school, we were taught this: "Go for the jugular." It is not merely throwing words--or punches back and forth, that counts. I would enjoy seeing skill in this type of exercise. Two historical examples of a well-known tactic: The Battle of Hastings, where the English were densely-packed, and withstood the Norman assaults for hours. But then, the green levies fell for the Norman ruse and broke their formation to chase after them. They were massacred. The Scots did better at the Bannockburn. The English armor charged up the hill all day long, but the Scots held firm. At the end of the day, THEN they went after the English, and they cut them down. A good example to follow. How about some proper strategy and tactics in these discussions?
