Tom Mostert, president of the Pacific Union Conference for the past 22 years, has announced that he will retire at the end of 2007. 2. Dorothy Retzer, mother of Gordon Retzer, President of the Southern Union Conference, passed away. Memorial Service will be Thursday afternoon, August 9, 2007, in the Ooltewah SDA Church, Ooltewah, TN. 3. During the last 2 week-ends of July, I spoke at Camp Meetings in Canada. First I was in Newfoundland and then at the Maritimes. There is a lot of excitement in Canada with the possibility of putting repeater stations across Canada for their Newfoundland radio station. A part of the 13th Sabbath offering that comes to the North American Division will be used to help fund these stations. 4. The Maritime Conference report at their camp meeting was about their plans for more than 100 evangelistic meetings during the coming year. 5. The evangelism offering at the Central California Conference Camp Meeting was over 3 million dollars. 6. The new conference president for the Quebec Conference is Dragan Stojanovic, who has been a pastor in Chicago. He replaces Gordon Gray who has retired. 7. Donna McNeilus was elected at the ASI Convention to serve a 2 year term as president of ASI. 8. As a part of the ASI Convention, young people have been sponsored to conduct evangelistic meetings. This year 140 people have made decisions for baptisms. At the baptism, I met one lady, who was being baptized, who has been keeping the Sabbath for many years. She didn't know any other people who were Sabbath Keepers. The young people knocked on her door, and a friendship was formed, and she was eager to join others who also keep the Sabbath. 9. Oscar Mungia of Temple, Texas, was playing in a rock band. On the way to an appointment a lady handed him a card with an invitation to study the Bible.
