Neil D Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 We need to know who this 'buddy' is of yours..... Is he 2 legged or 4 legged or no legs at all.....? skin or fur or feathers or fins? does he snuggle? lick? or make sucking noises? We need to know these things to make some sort of intelligent decision on names..... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Administrators Gail Posted September 17, 2007 Administrators Posted September 17, 2007 Aw, Neil- why worry about details? The name will grow on the little guy Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Neil D Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Aw, Neil- why worry about details? The name will grow on the little guy I know she called him a 'buddy' , but how do we know that it is a guy? And what about size? Just how little is he??? and in relation to what??? I mean, the Empire State building is a pretty big structure...but compared to Mt Everest...well, it's just a teeny thing... Amelia Posted September 17, 2007 Author Posted September 17, 2007 He has 2 legs and feathers. Powder blue and white. He is a little older than Zimmy and right now very anti-social. His currant name is George but that is my sisters name and way too human for a reepacheep. I bailed him out of the humane jail. Beryl Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 How about Zeb, short for Zebulun ( "Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out.. Deut 33:18) Hey -- if he is a bird, we don't want to rejoice in his "going out" -- he might never return!! Perhaps we should look for a more appropriate text about Zebulun! Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.
Amelia Posted September 17, 2007 Author Posted September 17, 2007 Quote: Do they get to stay in the same cage? Well the soon to be renamed George came with his own cage so I have two cages now. I left George in his own cage for two days and Zimmy of course has free flight of the apt so he would often hang on the side of the cage looking at George. On day 3 I opened the door of Georges cage and Zimmy immediately went inside and sat on the same perch with George. George was unimmpressed.haha And he let Zimmy know that if he got too close he would get nipped. But they are working things out and I've only had to step in once so far. On day 4 I finally got a hold of George to clip his long toenails and clip his wings so I can finger train him. Whoever owned him prior did not work with him at all. He is learning the words NO BITE! and GOOD BOY! On the way home from the humane society he chirpped and sang up a storm. Since being here he has uttered maybe a handful of peeps. Hopefully he will find his voice again soon. George enjoys running with Zimmy along the bottom of my mirrored closet doors. And they get along quite well when together doing that. And with Zimmy having flight ability he can get away to his own cage when he likes. So far George wont exit his cage on his own so I dont have to worry about him landing on the floor and not being able to get back to his cage. I keep food and water on the floor near the closet so even if he does land on the floor he wont go without for long. Morning Glory Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 So Amelia, What did you decide to name "George"?? Sorry, I didn't vote cause I didn't know who/what I was trying to name!! I am not good at naming pets, birds, dogs, cats, you name it. Anyway, I wish you well with your new "charge"!! Morning Glory Quote Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life.
