Kountzer Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I find it equally tiredsome hearing about the white teenager getting jump by the 6 black athletes. He lived. He could of, would of suffered permanent damage, but he didn't he lived. And I am glad he lived. A lot of people didn't live, but that's another story. That was a cowardly thing for the 6 to do. I don't think the main culprit should of stayed in jail for 10 + plus months without bail. Not with all the kangaroo courts they have conducted in the south, and elsewhere. A massive rally was held, the Da changed his decision, $45k in bail was posted, and the young man, will not spend the next 25 to 50 yrs behind bars behind this. Good enough for me. As for fbi statistics about crime, and black crime at that, tell me something new. Usually by the time the fbi gets wind of something it is old news. 9/11 is a prime example. I have just as many anecdotes about black on black crime as I do about those people that swerved off the road to hit me. I work for a law enforecement agency. I've collected data, and finger prints, and talked to many fbi agents. Crime is crime. As i've tried to get across, ad nausem, there's enough murder, , mayhem and excessive violence in all sectors of society to go around. as for PC, I don't need it, especially from an anonymous gay nazi. Bring you nasty attitude, and your hard ball. I hope you ride it straight to hell. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Neil D Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 >>...hope the reply will not be longwinded as well....<< So why hope: just ignore. Simple, eh? Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Stan Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Hmmm so I go away for a few days.... This emotionally charged issue, and it is a very real issue, needs to either go private, become more civil or cease. The solutions to the problem do not get solved by the personal and sensitive comments that are thrown back and forth. Moderators lazarus Posted October 1, 2007 Author Moderators Posted October 1, 2007 (ish) I think there has been a discussion about this before but how about a politics forum. I sometimes think about the best place to post political stuff. US domestic politics is not necessarily about the World, its politics. Hot emotional charged isuse can be put in the politics section too! Just a thought. Oh, and it should be pay per view rather than private. Like 50c for 5 minutes!!!!! Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein

jasd Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 >>Someone took the time to post. It needs to be read...it needs an ear...<< Never fear, there are always ears sufficient unto the matter >>...the monotony of the same style of lettering...<< Well, I suppose that should one have difficulty concentrating upon the written word -- he or she should either ignore it or discipline his or her concentration. I've never found it burdensome to read anything I've selected: it's a matter of focus. Simple enough. Then again, there are always comic books, colored pictures and balloons... Anyway, thanks for attempting to be helpful; but, if I desired so much to be read that I'd sprinkle confetti throughout what I write, I'd desist. It's not my style. I prefer to post adversarially and from the shoulder. I'm not here to make nice (though civility is good) or to make friends (friends come and go whilst input stays). I'm here for my benefit (selfish? no, necessary) and if someone else benefits also, well and good. However, I prefer issues be dealt with as forthrightly as a certain measure of civility allows: from the shoulder or cut to the bone; whichever, proves more effective. Thanks, again. Quote
jasd Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 D Bishop I often review what I previously posted to review the turn of a phrase used, to dwell upon synonyms that may have been better employed, sentence structure, etc. As I reviewed this thread I noticed that my posts may have been perceived to have been particularly vexatious. Should that have been the perception – I owe you an apology. “I apologize for vexation, sorry.” There it is – perhaps read by you before this thread drops off the page and is lost to cyberspace. Addendum - To All: My use of “color pictures and balloons” in the above post addressed to Neil D – was not meant to reflect upon photos shared with the list. They are very much appreciated by me. It, though too obliquely, referred to those Sunday newspaper supplements (comics) with pixelated “color pictures” together with their talking “balloons”. Quote
