Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted September 26, 2007 Administrators Posted September 26, 2007 Is the commonly used phrase "worship service" an oxymoron or a redundancy? Tom Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
Clio Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 May I pose this question on the Wheel, Tom? I'd love to see what some of the posters there make of it. Clio Quote A heart where He alone has first place.

Dr. Shane Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Different people like difference styles of worship. I think that reality is the elephant in the room that many local congregations do not want to address for various reasons. One being they don't know what to do about it. Reading the whole chapter awakened a whole new way to view worship and the Sabbath. In that chapter the worship practice in question was fasting. When you read it substitute the word "worship" for "fasting". Tom Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."
