Dr. Shane Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Bill Clinton, Eatery At Odds Over Chelsea Photo Quote: On Tuesday night, President Bill Clinton demanded that a Manhattan restaurant remove a picture of his daughter Chelsea. The picture has been up for years, but now it's posing a problem. He says he was surprised to receive a letter from Clinton's lawyer demanding he take the picture down. On official William Jefferson Clinton letterhead, was a threat to take further action: "We reserve the right to exercise any and all options available to us if you refuse to comply." I don't think the rights to a picture belongs to the person or company that took it, not the person in the picture. Obviously a lot of magazines and newspapers publish pictures without the consent of the people in them. Kind of an odd story. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... D. Allan Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Are you at some political insinuations and defamations again, Shane? The picture, the article states, is posted on the window, and it is Chelsea herself who wants it down. She always avoided publicity remember? Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Dr. Shane Posted September 27, 2007 Author Posted September 27, 2007 I guess I am at a loss to why anyone thinks this story reflects baddly on the Clintons. Are people just judging me and thinking that if I posted it then I must have the intent of making the Clintons look bad? There was nothing in my comments that should have led anyone to believe that this story makes the Clintons look bad. I did comment that I don't think they have the law on their side. That is not to say they are bad people for not wanting the picture hung in public view, just that I don't think they can do much about it legally. Many restaurant owners have their pictures taken with their famous clients and hang them in public view afterwards. I wonder what Chelsea Clinton thought this owner was going to do with the picture when she agreed to pose with him. I am sure there are a lot of celebrities out there that would like to control what other people do with pictures taken of them. That is not to say they are bad people for wanting to control what is done with their pictures... but there isn't much the can do about it legally. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... D. Allan Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 If she were my daughter I would want to help her just as much as President Clinton does. I don't see anything "odd" about that. Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
