Stan Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 October 1, 2007 From the Desk of Don C. Schneider. . . . Feel free to share this information. 1. Early this morning Dr. Malcolm Maxwell died at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona where he was living with his daughter, Wendy, and her children. During the last two years he had developed post-muscular atrophy. Up until the middle of this last week when he took a downward turn, he was the Malcolm we all knew - alert, inquisitive, caring, and loving. The cause of death is unknown. A Memorial Service will be held at the Pacific Union College Church sometime in the next month. Dr. Maxwell was president of Pacific Union College for 18 years. Messages to the family can be sent through Dick Osborn at rosborn@puc.edu. He will share them with Malcolm’s children, Wendy and Kevin. 2. At the Iowa-Missouri Constituency meeting, Dean Coridan, president, said, “I need 100 people to commit to give $1,000 in addition to their regular giving for evangelism. We want to have 100 evangelistic meetings, during the 2009 year of Pastoral evangelism. Fifty of the meeting will be preached by pastors, and 50 by lay people.” During the meeting he said, “Well, I don’t really need 100 commitments, because my wife and I will be first so that leaves 99, but we only need 98 because our ministerial director and his wife have already committed too.” Over 60 others brought a commitment care to the president. 3. At the Arizona Conference Constituency meeting, Duane McKey called for an offering and support for giving each young person who conducts an evangelistic meeting outside the U.S. a scholarship for $1500 to the Adventist Academy or College of their choice. An additional $1500 scholarship would be available to the young people if they conduct an evangelistic meeting in the U.S. after their return from the mission experience.
