Is Church for losers?

Interesting comment from beleiving, but inactive adventists.

"Church is for people that fail, you go there, hear their story, all interesting, but non succeeders. People are always talking about struggles, not successes"

You know Stan, that is true but I have heard some success stories too and those are very exciting as well. The church is a hospital for sinners, but with Jesus sinners to improve and one day we will all be check out to go home with Jesus.

Without Christ, we are all losers but not everyone knows that. What has a man gained if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?

Christ says, come unto Me all that are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Ellen White actually says the rest He refers to is the law. Imagine that! Can we find rest in the law? Actually he who sins is a slave to that sin. Our greatest burden is the burden of sin. When Christ gives us victory over sin a great burden is taken off from us. So if we will only go to Him, and let Him work through us, we will find freedom from sin and thus find the rest He promises.

The world views religious people, especially Christians, as people to weak to overcome their problems on their own. And that is true. Only, they (the world) are in the same boat and don't know it. The difference is that we "losers" have found a Solution (Christ) and they (the world) don't even know they have a problem.

Jesus is the solution. However unless we introduce Jesus as the solution to the losers still in the world, we (the disciples of Christ) will rejoin the losers. Holding ourselves up as the Way

because we are successful in our own right, robs God of the glory that is rightfully His.
