In your adventist experience, what is the best thing in life

Ok, hopefully, everyone will say that God is the best thing in thier life....but what is next? and why is it so good?

The fellowship and brotherhood within the church is the best thing about life as an Adventist. I have learned that to make a friend I have to be a friend. Like it or not, that tends be true in my religious experience. When I have just went to church and left, semi-isolating myself, very few people have struck up friendships with me. But when I talk to others, call them during the week, invite them to my home, I have made some wonderful friendships.

Just remember these words of warning, for they will come to pass all too soon:

If you are ever flying through the desert and your canoe breaks down, remember that it takes three pancakes to lift the doghouse, because there ain't nary a bone in ice cream!

The best thing in life is to love and be loved. That is all-encompassing (even covers Frichik) and has nothing to do with being an Adventist, but more with being a child of God, saved by His grace because He loves us.

So far no one has said "judgmental legalists". adoh

I beg to differ....Wayne has said that "FryChick" is the best thing in being an adventist...Is not that "Judgemental"? surrender

As I have never come across FriChick in Oz, I will not comment

on that. (Although some years ago there were some delights manufactured by Sanitarium, a form of vegetarian sausage, that probably came very close :) )

The best thing within the parameters here about being Advesntist for me, has been the fellowship almost instantly findable in moving round the world. I have twice moved to a 'foreig' (sorry NZ) country to live, and the church community has minimised the feelings of isolation and strangeness I would have expected. In visiting foreign countries, the same sometimes applies.

Shane, "So far no one has said "judgmental legalists". I'm trying to stay away from that.

I'm a recovering legalist.

Friends that stick with you are the best thing.

People that pretend to be your friend then turn on you are the worst.

Recovering legalists are allowed here on ClubAdventist...There are quite a few of them here...Some don't even know that they are recovering...and some don't even know that they are legalistic...and some of them are the greatest relationship promoters around... cker hangingorlyangelnot

But that is ok....the ground is still level at the Cross... thinking

Oh, and make sure that when a friend "turns" on you, that they are not backstabbers, but actually friends.... friends do tell the truth to you...you might not like what you hear though.....

I concur! I'm going through something now.

DWC, I hope the ones that are sticking out weigh the ones who are not.....having been blessed with some wonderful friends in the church, who have been there so many times when I needed them, I pray you will find the same sort of support.
