We all want to go to Heaven, but do we have personal reasons for wanting to go? Some special family members or friends that we have planned to met at the Western Gate or someplace?

All of the above - to see Jesus face to face - and for the music in my heart to come out my mouth in a musical form (rather than the single note B flat <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />)

just because I want to see images like these

The above image is focusing on storms of Saturn. The bottom image is from " Spooky Star Forming Region DR 6 ".

If our telescopes can see beautiful pictures like these, there has got to be many more out there just as beautiful...

I want to listen to Jesus as he tells me about my entire list of “why” questions.

• To see the whole picture.

• To hear the melody of his voice. What can we compare it to?

• To look at the scars that I caused and tell Him I am so sorry.

• To share my family with him and thank him for loaning them to me.

• To thank him for the sunshine I have received and to tell him the rain was OK too.

• To smell the fragrance of the flowers together.

• To touch His hands.

• To laugh with him and my family.

• To know there will be no more separation, no more tears, no more pain, and no more sin.

• To let him help finish my genealogy all the way back to Adam and Eve.

• To share with me the story of redemption and of salvation.

• To explain the true meaning of all the things I haven't quite grasped.

I guess you could say I want to see the whole picture to give me a true vision of beginning to the end.

So come Lord Jesus!

The greatest want of the world is the want of men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true & honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty..., men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.{Ed 57.3}

I have an entire agenda....

First I plan on spending at least 1000 years, every morning in the Courts of Praise. I want to learn to dance before the Throne, I want to learn the music of heaven, and there are some instruments I want to learn to play. Hopefully, I will be allowed to sing in the chorus too. I think maybe Jesus will come often to the Courts of Praise, and I long to cast my crown at His feet.

In the afternoons of those first thousand years, barring any tasks Jesus may have for me, I have standing appointments on the Sea of Glass with some people:

Kitten. I've never met her, but her consistent, kind, gentle, wisdom, incessant prayer, and persistence in sending me two books I didn't want to read, changed my life forever.

Chris. Prayer partners for years, we've never met. There has been a distance opened because of where Abba Father has led me, but I trust in Him because I know without doubt that her heart seeks after His, sincerely and incessantly.

Beulah, Scottie, Ben, Martha, Elizabeth and others... Prayer warriors mighty indeed, but whom I have never met in the flesh.

LifeHisCost, who I firmly believe will not be hard to find. Nicodema, for as she perseveres, so will she be there to be met.

My parents who died secure in Jesus' covering, my grandparents, my husbands brother who died at age 7, a few weeks after preaching his first and only sermon.

I have an appointment with the Keeper of the Books, my angel, another angel I've named Helper since he's the one who usually answers my questions, but I don't know his name. I even have an appointment with someone else's angel...

I long to meet and talk to Peter's wife... I suspect we have much in common.... It is for that reason I love Peter so much, at least from what we are told. I think, from what is written of him, he is much like my beloved husband.... I think Peter's wife and I would find much to laugh about in comparing notes....

But mostly, I just long for Jesus. I can see myself dropping everything and running/flying/whatever heavenly mode of transport there is... to wherever He is, just to reassure myself and worship Him anew.

Clio, just curiosity here... but what characteristics of Peter do you like best? Which ones remind you of your dear husband?

His impetuousness? His devotion to the Master?

This is interesting to me.

I just want the "virus" (sin) permanently removed from my entire being at last, never again to sicken, vex, or annoy me ... everything else will be gravy. I'll have thousands of years to learn anything I want ... physics, astronomy, higher mathematics, languages, and of course the science and song of the Cross for all eternity. I'll be able to receive first hand from Jesus an understanding of all the things that confused me about life, and receive His love, comfort and healing right there in person.

All of which is terribly selfish and shallow of me, as it's all centered on self. Heaven isn't built on that, I know. I can only pray by the time that day gets here that Jesus will have made me ready and fit to dwell with Him.

Assuming he's there, I'd like to meet an ancestor of mine named Abraham the Heretic and asked him the reason for his name. Since he lived in the 1530's, I think I have a clue, but I'd like to be sure.

Well, Peter was a fisherman... hanging around the waterfront, interacting with other fishermen... This is not a gentle occupation or one for someone weak....

So Peter was a good-sized gent... as is my husband... Peter knew how to throw a good curse... good enough for the people around him to believe he didn't know Jesus... probably came from hanging around the waterfront... and my husband was Navy AND a longshoreman... his language is a continuing challenge to him.... Peter charged headlong into things... and so does my husband...

Peter's first thought was to meet agression with agression... he cut off a servants ear afterall... The first time Jesus threw my husband into the River of life, my husband came up swinging... and Jesus just grinned and dunked him again.... reminds me again of Peter.

The image I have of Peter both before and after his true conversion is of a bluff, hearty, giant of a man, who is big, strong, brawny, eager, agressive, has problems with his temper, his language, and even faith at times, but chases after Abba Father and Jesus with all his heart once he understood. He's impetuous, generous to a fault, very literal in his outlook, and dotes on his wife... who is constantly running after him and picking up the pieces after his impetuosity has gotten them into hot water...

And that only comes through the shed blood of Jesus, guaranteed to any and all who will trust in that provision.
