cricket Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 As was reported in the shout box, tonight, our Denise is in the hospital. Seems her breast cancer has returned. Please, everyone, keep her in your special prayers throughout this holiday season. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if the tables were reversed, she's request the same for you (or me). Quote
Dr. Shane Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Those of us that attend church might do well to bring her up during praise and petition tomorrow. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Stan Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 i can not think of anyone, who has played such a part in being friendly and caring to others, ever since Adventist went online in 1995 or so. 1/2 Step is so precious to us.. to all of us. I pray, from my heart, for my friend Denise.. Guest bossybootsy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 It would be a blessing if each of us would have our various church families lifting her up in prayer!! I know that she will be prayed for in at least 6 churches up here in Washington and also in Alaska. The more prayers said for her, the better! We need her surrounded by the Lord's angels to protect her from any more assaults from Satan! She is a very very special person! and one of my very closest friends. I am thankful that she has this group praying for her and has this extended family! Quote
cricket Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 Very special person, indeed! Praying. Always praying. I will bring it up at church today as well. (Thank you, BB, for calling this to our attention. I am so thankful that she has "real life" friends as yourself--people who can be there for her, when the rest of us cannot.) Quote
Members phkrause Posted December 22, 2007 Members Posted December 22, 2007 She will be on our pray list for sure. pkrause Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Guest Raquel Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Denise, has my love, prayers, hopes and thoughts. I have been able to visit her in person twice now. I pray that she fully recovers. I am a very cell phone based person, but I must realize that not everyone will carry there cell phone with them. I will call the house and find out which hospital she is in. Quote

Halfstep-Denise Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Praise the Lord and thank you for your prayers! I survived the PET CT Scan yesterday! The Lord helped me through the claustrophobia while in tha scanner tube! I wanted to be asleep during the scan, but no way! I concentrated on hearing Josh Groban's voice in my head singing "Little Drummer Boy" and I tried to sing along!!! IT WORKED! Tomorrow, (Friday), I'll be getting the results from my doctor. Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted December 28, 2007 Moderators Posted December 28, 2007 Fabulous, Half-step!! You did exactly the right thing, to avoid claustrophobia while in the tube -- listening and singing along with the music!! Congratulations!!! I've never had a PET scan, but I have had an MRI. And those things are in a closed-in tube also. But I just closed my eyes and thought of something else while all the hammering was going on around me! Now I'm praying along with everybody else, for your good news about the scan, but also for the right kind of treatment so you can soon be good as new! Moderators Nan Posted December 28, 2007 Moderators Posted December 28, 2007 Hi Denise, will be anxiously waiting to hear your news. May God bless you both with a good sleep tonight. Quote
Halfstep-Denise Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 The doctor told me the results of the PET CT Scan yesterday and it wasn't what I wanted to hear! Apparently, the Cancer is not only in the Breast, but in my Liver and Spine as well. Chemotherapy will be started within the next week or two at the most. Again, thank you for your prayers and support! My husband and his family will need prayers too since they will be taking care of me! Halfstep-Denise Quote "God doesn't make junk". - Pastor David Ring

Denise, this world is not our home. Soon we'll be able to live pain-free, with God. But until that time, we're praying for you to have the peace that passes understanding.
