olger Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 A DRUM CRUSHER !!! Only one problem...it can be habit forming! Let me illustrate. I started out this morning with the noble intention of crushing four or five drums and getting the remainder after the new year. But, it's like eating potato chips--you can't stop with one. Soon I was running around gathering all the empty drums and administering "justice" to them. 83 - Drums later I ran out !! Definitely the most satisfying gift ever... oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Taylor Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 LOL Olger! You are such a guy. The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. I'll admitt it looks like fun. I used to love to stomp on pop cans or cardboard boxes....it was fun! This is machine does it on a much larger scale...wheee....lol Quote
Amelia Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Why in the world did you have 83 drums? olger Posted January 1, 2008 Author Posted January 1, 2008 Why in the world did you have 83 drums? LOL Hi Amelia. Our spray-applied roofing & insulating materials come in 1,000 pound sets (2-drums). That means that during a year we accumulate well over a hundred of them. Here's one of our spray rigs (back when they had plastic drums in 2003). The EPA made us switch to steel drums in `05. I must say, it makes a satisfying crunch !! Everybody should have one Down with drums, oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Must be the same kind of "crunch" that I've been hearing here on CA lately. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
olger Posted January 1, 2008 Author Posted January 1, 2008 I thought you were hard of hearing ?? It's a miracle !! Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Amelia Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 WOW, what a clean storage room! Dr. Shane Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I need a few empty drums on each of my projects. They make good rash cans but I have a hard time getting them without the lid on top. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
olger Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 Hi Amelia. That's actually a mobile job trailer. It has a full mechanical room up front with 40,000 watt diesel generator, compressor, etc... My guys will tell you I'm kinda fussy about keeping things tidy. it's good for `em . Sometimes I have to take my own advice and clean my desk off (like tomorrow). We spray polyurethane foam for commercial roofing and residential insulation. It's really cool stuff (been at it since 1984). oG Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
olger Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 Shane, I wish you lived closer. But, I could put you in contact with a fellow contractor in Texas - you could probably get all the drums you wish at no charge. Would polyethylene work for trash? That's what we use in our shop. I prefer them over steel for some reason. Stronger, lighter... Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Dottie Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Maybe you could start a steel drum band! A very large one. . . Quote
