Stan Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 From observations, over the years.. ( add your own) Do a new Church plant, they will come when invited, hold the meetings in a school or some place, not our Church nor another Church. Feed the homeless, they will often come to help that. Don't talk about non issues, even though you think the are very important, thinks like Daniel 12, 1888, or even things that people argue about here, just leave them alone. Do talk about the world wide growth. Don't be a no-it-all about spiritual things, give respect their thoughts and idea. Get them to invite others to the new Church plant. Do have powerful sermons. Challenge everyone to make a difference. Remember this, you never witness, you ARE a witness. Don't treat them as trophies. Don't try to replace the Holy Spirit with yourself. Invite them over to your home. You may have to give up some of your friends to take in new ones. Treat other people nice. A very good observation, Stan. I'd never put it into words before -- but it's true: I just don't have enough hours in my day to keep up with all my friends, especially the ones who need ME more than I need THEM. I'll have to face facts: Plan ahead; and include time with the friends who need me. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
carolaa Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Those are great. It kinda looks like we have to get off our pew, though! Ouch. I think you made a Freudian slip when you mistyped "know-it-all," because so many former members were raised in a negative environment where they were met with NO every time they wanted to do something (especially on Sabbath) -- hence, "no-it-all." Yeah, we don't want to be like that. :) Quote
