Woody Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Well .... I am a GWB fan. I think he has done what he could do under the circumstances. I say ... way to go GW ... we are behind you. Someone who is not afraid of standing up before America and saying that God is number one in his life ... deserves our admiration. Much more than some of the previous presidents who destroyed the image of the office. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Dr. Shane Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 The term "lame duck" applies to a President during the time period after a new President is elected and the time the new President takes office. Thus, GW Bush will not be a lame duck until after the November election this year. The Bush Administration has done a lot to help the Palestine movement while in office. Israel forced Jewish settlers to withdraw from the Gaza Strip a few years ago. The US State Department had a lot to do with Israel no going to war full throttle with Hezbollah which would have resulted in the death of a lot of civilians in Lebanon. Moderators Bravus Posted January 13, 2008 Moderators Posted January 13, 2008 I agree with Stan's initial post. If the US, under Bush, starts really holding Israel to account, and gets very serious about the peace process and the establishment of a Palestinian state, that will be a very important and positive move, and something to be lauded. Quote Truth is important
Dr. Shane Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Of course, we are all believing that a Palestinian state will cause peace. Palestinians are the same race and religion as other Arabs living around them. Another road to peace would be for the other Arabs nations to grant Palestinians citizenship in their countries. I think Israel dropped the ball when they gave back the Sinai peninsula to Egypt. They should have turned it into a Palestinian state. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Wikipedia can be helpful but is not authoritative and George W. Bush is still the most powerful man in the world. A lame duck Congress is one that meets after an election but before the new Congress takes office. A lame duck President is one that serves after a new President has been elected but before he or she takes office. Any other use of these terms is used only in an insulting and inflammatory manner. I would have the legal right to be offended. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 It s too bad that George Bush is a member of Skull and Bones, an occult society. Personally i think he is a very nice guy and does really want to spread freedom and democracy. But unfortunately his policy of enforcing democracy and freedom who have lived for centuries under a strict theocracy is quite hypocritical concerning the fact that the United States is heading towards a theocracy that will be established under the influence of the false holy spirit outporing in the pentecostal churches. I think George Bush is rather a puppet of some very powerfull think tanks like the Council on Foreign Relations and does not really influence world politics in a high degree. Actually his function is only symbolical and reminds me of fascist propaganda. All he has to do is talk about some bad guys in a cave and spread fear which is totally unproportional. Think about it, the US constitution is being destroyed without people even noticing it. History repeats itself, just like when Hitler swept to power in 1933 after a single man burned the Reichstag down. In order to fight the Communists he demanded that all the power had to be centralised in the government. But unfortunately nobody realises how important freedom is, until the anticipated collapse of the world like we know it will lead to a new world order which has been the ultimate goal of satan for centuries. You ll probably think that i am talkin about conspiracy but there is nothing strange talking about the illuminated elite that truly thinks they are doing good things. The hard core of this elite operates nearly unknown. Fortunately God will give power to his people as well. So, in general i think the human side of Mr Bush is very nice, but his hidden agenda is not very democratic. http://video.google.nl/videoplay?docid=4...earch&plindex=4 Quote

Personally, I think the head of the Federal Reserve is the most powerful man in the world. Bush may be on the highest pedestal in the world, but I don't believe he has that much real power. Although he does seem to be flaunting it more than any President I've seen. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 The chairman of the Federal Reserve certainly has a lot of power bu it is limited to the economy. Yet, the old adage is "He he holds the purse strings holds the power." So there is a lot of power there. The chairman of the Fed cannot send soldiers to war, reduce or raise taxes, appoint judges, veto legislation or pardon criminals. So when comparing that position with the one of the President, the President does seem to have significantly more power. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Pockey Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Of course, we are all believing that a Palestinian state will cause peace. Good point! Some will say that even having a Palestinian state won't stop the violence, because they say that fundamentally Islam is a violent religion. http://www.biblicalperspectives.com/endtimeissues/eti_85.html Quote
jasd Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 QR frame: "Wars and rumors of wars..." -Jesus Christ Peace? Whose? Perhaps not, but what of justice? Anyway, Well, this year our nation was blessed by Dubya and wife being, well, ‘traditional’ – in spite of the recent rash of calls for the PC of “Happy Holidays” (gwarf). “This morning on ‘The View,’ Barbara Walters displayed the Christmas card she recently received from the White House. She said it was the most religious White House Christmas card in her memory. The card included explicit religious references beyond just a bible verse. The super-Christian card features a verse from Nehemiah (Old Testament, it should be noted): You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. NEHEMIAH 9:6 (NIV) But whereas in previous years the President and the First Lady opted for messages of happiness, goodwill, and peace, this year featured the following closer: May the joy of all creation fill your heart this blessed season 2007. It is then signed by both George and Laura Bush.” Thank-you, Dubya and Laura. Quote
