My oldest son is 45 and if he were to use any of these I would still wash his mouth with soap, maybe a little bleach added

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

I was told here recently that the word "cum" was not a bad word. But as I asked around people just looked at me as if I were one card short of a full brick.

Thank you to cricket for letting me know just how wrong and bad these words were. I was thinking about using the word "cum" on this forum. Now I know not to as it will get me banned or censored.

It would wouldn't it Stan or any member of admin?

Well, not all Internet lingo is bad. In fact, some of the one's mentioned above are really kind of endearing terms. For example, BFF. Another member here often calls me her BFF. It's just short for Best Friends Forever.

Granted, a lot of lingo is derogatory or expletive. Yes, a lot of it is, but not all.

I can use all the help I can get on this subject. Any information I can get the better. I had no idea that the word "cum" was sooo bad! I have seen it on this board before so I didn't think it was so bad.

It likely wasn't used in the offensive context on this board. Hmm. Not sure as I didn't see it.

Best always just to ask the originator of the post to find out his/her intentions.

Also, it could have been simply that they were spelling phonetically. Lots of poor spellers here!

If this is so bad, (the word "cum") then why is it left on a CHRISTian forum for the world to see???

Now that I read that, I can see that in this instance, it isn't intended to be derogatory. It's a phonetic spelling of the word "come". Just as the words "yo", "shurt", "beofores", "theys" and "horang" are purposefully misspelled.

For what it's worth, the words "hell" and "damn" can often be used as expletives as well. It is the context in which it is used that helps to determine the "goodness" or "badness" of the word.
