Woody Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Why did Jesus speak in parables? It seems that parables have an advantage. Christ could have just told every one ... You are evil. Change your ways. That works with some I suppose. There many be a time and place for Christ to do that. But I would say that Christ would rather have the sinner see himself in a story or comparison and then have his heart pricked. Sometimes we can't see the sin when it is pointed out in us. But if we see an example of it in someone else ... as represented in the parables ... we can better see it in ourselves. Sometimes we have to see the end result of our sins. Parables can do this. OR the life of hard knocks can also. But sometimes those valleys can last a long time. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
