Neil D Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Since we are not saved by what church we belong to ... You could take what you like and throw out what you don't like. I can vouch for this...I have tried to get Redwood thrown out several times, but, dang it, it's like he's part of the woodwork or something..... Sooo, I guess we will HAVE to keep him..... Pockey Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 i caught a couple episodes of his tv show. one he gave a health message and it sounded like the SDA health message. we were impressed. but then the other day i saw another episode, and it was about Proverbs 16:7 "When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him". I feel like he went off on his own interpretation of it. His message was basically, if we continue to endure all the junk our enemies throw at us, then someday, we'll have the "last laugh." His analogy was that God was making dinner for us, and we'd be eating at his table and our enemies will be outside looking in on us. now that is a very seductive message. cuz who wouldn't want to have the last laugh over our enemies? but is he right? i mean, it doesn't sound 'right' but, is it okay, to hope for 'justice' to our enemies or to hope to have the "last laugh"? i feel like that message would help me get through whatever mud is being slung at me, but ultimately, i'm not sure if we'll be standing inside the wall of the city looking out and 'laughing' at the others. not sure what he meant. Moderators Gerr Posted January 3, 2010 Moderators Posted January 3, 2010 Just tagging on. I've listened/watched a few times. He is a feel-good preacher. Good motivational speaker. "Grow where you are where got put you" seems to be the theme of the messages I heard. Didn't hear much of anything Biblical. That would get old pretty quickly for me. Whether he's a fraud or not is not for me to say. I don't know enough about him. A lot of people don't like to hear about fruit inspection these days, but we'll just have to watch what kind of fruit his ministry bears. Quote
Aliensanctuary Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I think he was the televangelist who said, "God wants you to be wealthy." I assumed he meant money. I can't imagine Jesus saying anything like that. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451

Aliensanctuary Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I think we have a glimpse of true Babylon in the bloodthirsty, murderous confederacy of those who love to turn themselves and their unsuspecting victims into flying body parts. This is the true spirit of the Babylon at the End of Time. This is the Babylon responsible for destroying the great cities of the world. This is the Babylon responsible for beheading or otherwise killing nearly all of the Christians of the world. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451

Aliensanctuary Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Quote: Lazarus, Lazarus! How could you go back into Babylon and even listen to those who teach error?! What IS the world coming to?! Take that!! You're right SivartM. Babylon of the Last Days probably has nothing to do with Mr. Osteen, or members or ex-members of the SDA church or any other church unless they turn against Christ. Babylon is not Christian. Babylon murders Christians, or anyone it suspects are Christian. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451
Guest Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Babylon claims to be Christian... The fallen denominational churches are Babylon. Babylon has been fostering poisonous doctrines, the wine of error. This wine of error is made up of false doctrines, such as the natural immortality of the soul, the eternal torment of the wicked, the denial of the pre-existence of Christ prior to His birth in Bethlehem, and advocating and exalting the first day of the week above God's holy, sanctified day. These and kindred errors are presented to the world by the various churches. . . . {Ev 365.1} Quote
