Sulla Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Quote: A team of scientists from Hong Kong and Turkey believe they have discovered the remains ofNoah's Ark on Mount Ararat in Turkey. After many years of searching, in the summer of 2007, the fourth expedition yielded results. Turkish mountaineering expert and explorer Mr. Ahmet Ertugrul came upon a cave at an altitude of over 4200 meters and inside found parts of a wooden structure. Samples were sent to Hong Kong University and the results clarified the findings were part of a petrified wooden structure In an exclusive interview with Infolive.tv, Mr. Ertugrul talks about the discovery and plans to search two other sites on the mountain where he believes there are other remains of Noah's Ark. To say that it is Noah's Ark is a huge leap. There are buried trees all over the planet that have become petrified. Quote Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8
nuff sed Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I would take more credence in www.anchorstone.com ......I have been to the site mentioned there. If you are not a believer it looks like a pile of rocks and mud. If you are a believer it is the right length, the right width, and found 12 miles below Mt. Ararat in the Valley of Eight where we believe that the ark slid down and broke open after being impaled on rock outcropping. Why not go have a look for yourself? Anchorstone Intl. has a couple tours a year. One interesting little side note... The Kurd/Turk guide who is the 'onsite' front man for Anchorstone in Turkey was baptised last year after having been connected with the organization for several years. Quote
Stan Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 How many people have found Noah's ark over the 30 years? 5-6 I think.. YET, I do know it is out there someplace... Dr. Shane Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 On one hand, we do not want to sensationalize the evidence. To do so only reflects poorly on ourselves by casting doubt on our honesty. On the other hand, we must not try to satisfy the critics who will never be convinced regardless of the evidence. The Israelites walked through the Red Sea on dry land and still built the golden calf afterwards. Miraculous evidence isn't enough to convince many people. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Much of what NASA and many scientists in general do is apophenia. That is where a search for something normally starts out - wild guesses based on a small amount of actual evidence. So it is hard to criticize the group for that. I doubt Noah's Ark still exists because in order for it to have been preserved it would have had to have been buried fast. Under normal conditions a wooden ship would have just rotted away. Although I am not willing to dismiss all the sitings over the years. It is possible the Ark could have been covered and preserved during the Ice Age which followed the flood. The Ark could have landed in the summer and been covered in the winter with falling global tempentures. While I see that as possible I consider it inprobable. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... It would seem inconsistent to the nature of God ... to have the ARK discovered. God wants us to come to Him out of FAITH. Not what is SEEN. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Neil D Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 It would seem inconsistent to the nature of God ... to have the ARK discovered. God wants us to come to Him out of FAITH. Not what is SEEN. But that would not prove God, but rather established that what the bible says is true....God still remains unseen....and it is still faith that establishes the relationship....But it does give more credence to the guidebook...aka the bible. David Koot Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 True indeed, Neil. And your post goes a LONG way toward establishing your conservative credentials. What did Bravus say a year ago or so, something about becoming conserv when hell freezes over? Well, it has happened for Neil, that is clear. Maybe ol' Bravus is next! Quote
