What have I noticed others doing that has brought a smile to me or a gift of thankfulness to my day...or better yet, what have I done to make others comment that thier day was a bit better? Me? Well, until recently, I was attempting to file all my own files that I was using....Then was told not to do that as it was the secretary's job... Hmmm, I am sorry I don't understand this. So you were lightening the secretary's load--without realizing it; until someone else told you to stop, because it was her "job". That is when your attitude changed concerning this free gift you were giving the secretary???? I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say here. Gene Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Oh come on Neil buck the system and keep up the good thought. Unless your secretary takes your action as her inability to do her job correctly. Telling her that she does a great job would be just as welcome, I'm sure. There is one thing that God does for me when I feel that I'm being slighted somehow at work. When I work in town I often frequent a fast food establishment for lunch or dinner. On a number of occasions I have come to know a person named Samual. He sit there and drinks coffee that the staff there furnish him. Understand that he not there all the time, but it seem, only the times that I need an attitude adjustment. At first I was embarrased to ask if I could buy him something to eat, but I did it anyway. He is not homeless but he doen't have much. Now when I see him there I just get him something to eat and invite him over to eat with me. He takes his hat off and he offers a prayer before we eat. We eat and talk and he thanks me, but the real blessing is what this does for me. It put all the things in the world into perspective and for this I thank God for Samual, and the change in attitude that I so needed.
