According to news reports, Mughniyeh was responsible for the torture and murder of unarmed 23-year-old U.S. Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem, whose body was ingloriously dumped on the tarmac at Beirut airport, during the 1985 hijacking of a TWA jetliner. I remember when Robert Stethem was murdered for no reason other than the fact that he was in the American military, and while I'm not joyful that Mughniyeh was killed, I can't weep for sorrow, either. The Bible warns us, "Those who kill with the sword will die by the sword." It seems to be a law of the universe that when we take people's lives without cause, we forfeit our right to live.
