Guest Neil D Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I can't see the picture, Stan.... And it is NOT your server...it is my computer at work...this particular employer allows me to get on the internet between my treatment loads, but not view various visual aids.. Quote
Planey Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Interesting research. But I'd like to see someone else repeat the test and get commensurate results before I was convinced. Then again I guess I'm a deeply entrenched skeptic. Graeme Quote Graeme____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Liz Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Oooh, ooh, ooh, pick me!! pick me!! says Liz waving her hand wildly in the air. I would be more than happy to eat chocolate with "extra" good intentions--then try the chocolate that is just laying around; and tell you which one makes me feel better. David Koot Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Chocolate? The notion that eating a certain brand of chocolate will make one feel better? That falls in the same category as the wine industry's claim that drinking wine is good for the heart. Well, there may be one chemical, occurring in the skin of the grape, that helps, but there are a lot more negative consequences to drinking wine. Same applies to eating chocolate. Sorry, Liz. Quote

David now play fair. At least let me try the experiment. I will be unbiased, and let you know what happens. David Koot Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Okay, okay, I get the picture. But I have been curious about one thing. Awhile back, I heard the idea expressed that there is something in chocolate that is specially needed by women--as in some nutrient or chemical or something. I just can't buy that. Sounds like a marketing gimmic. Quote
Liz Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 In all seriousness, I have heard the same thing. I don't know whether it is true or not, or it works because I want it to be true. But on certain days of the month if I eat a candy bar, I am not so cranky. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? David Koot Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Well hey, then I will make a point of giving my dw chocolates on certain days of the month. Capital idea! Beats checking into a motel for peace! Quote
Liz Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Well hey, then I will make a point of giving my dw chocolates on certain days of the month. Capital idea! Beats checking into a motel for peace! This is exactly what my dh does. And yes, it does make for a nice peaceful home. P.S. Don't forget the flowers, you can pick up a cheap nice bouquet for $5 or $6 dollars at Walmart. It is a nice gesture and does go a long way. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? David Koot Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I shall definitely remember that. Right now, my sailboat serves as the doghouse for me. At least it has a nice space heater in the cabin, and keeps it warm. Maybe the choco. will help. Quote
David Koot Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Oh, will I EVER get in trouble if someone reads that!! I have yet to spend a night in the doghouse. But there has been talk about that. I used to live on it, so it is definitely available. I think I'm just making things worse. Oh, well. Quote
Liz Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 If my dh had a sailboat he would be picking fights with me just so he could spend the night on the boat. David Koot Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 LOLOLOL I lived aboard for over a year, and absolutely loved it. The gentle rocking of the boat in the water, the sound of the wind. Occasionally, there were pretty serious storms, winds close to 100 mph. Didn't interrupt my sleep, although the boat heeled way over a few times. Nice thing is, you can untie your 'house' from the dock, fire up the motor or raise sail, head down the river and anchor in the Bay for the day. An idyllic life, indeed. She knows she had better be nice to me! Quote
Neil D Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Voodoo science Sounds like it was spoken in a tense tone...Amelia, do you need some dark chocolate? Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
