Dr. Shane Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Today I voted for Barak Obama. Now on March 4 I will vote again in the caucus. In Texas we get to vote twice I didn't vote for Barak (can I call him Barry?) because he is black. Although I like the idea of a black man in the White House. I just hope he doesn't make the Oval office square. I didn't vote for Barry because he is young. Although perhaps after he is President his wife can run. I voted for Barry because I like his policy on education and health-care (even though he is a tad bit ignorant on the War on Terror, I hold out hopes that the Joint Chiefs of Staff will bring him to reason). Most of all, I voted for Bary because him and his wife would make a wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous, fabulous, fantastic, outstanding, brilliant, charming, inspiring, motivating, awe-inspiring First Family. I simply cannot wait to see the White House at Christmas time during an Obama administration. And a big, big (did I say BIG?) reason is Barry has a daughter the same age as my son Alex and his other child is just two years older (my other is two years younger). We were both born in the 60s . Barry in '61 and me in '69. We are both Leos although I don't think that counts for much. So, one can see... we have a lot in common. Of course, he can't take me for granted. I still need to see where he stands on many more issues and see proposals and plans. I could always vote for the war hero come November. But I got my eye on Barry and gave him my vote today. Dr. Shane Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 Obama's High School Crew Out on the court was No. 23, but long before Michael Jordan made that number famous, another player was standing out for other reasons. His name was Barry Obama. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Dr. Shane Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 I had to stand in line for over an hour to cast my second vote for Obama tonight. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 (can I call him Barry?) I once changed the name of an individual in the presence of my father...I have always remembered what he told me.... Never change a man's name if he is introduced to you by another. It denegrates the man.... If you are asking me, the answer is a resounding "NO"! Dr. Shane Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 From what I understand, Obama's friends call him Barry, so the insinuation I was making is that I would consider him a friend. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 But he was introduced to you as Barak Obama, not as Barry....If he wanted to be called Barry, he would have said so.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Dr. Shane Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 Actually, I think he was introduced as Barry. I distinctly remember Michelle introducing him at Starbucks over a cup of decaf. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
