CyberGuy Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I did get the flu shot but I have read it was only 40 percent effective this year. So far I have not come down with the flu this year. Last time I got the flu was December 2005. It knocked me down for five days. I was so sick for two days I thought I had pneumonia. I may have to. Coughing so hard it hurt. Fever at 104 and so weak I could hardly get up to eat and drink. But I kicked it. Quote Riverside CA

He is 83 but came through it fairly well. CyberGuy Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 The flu is a dangerous thing to come down with for older people. My Moms dad my grandfather died of the flu that turned into pneumonia. He was 93. He was just to old to kick it. He went into a coma and faded away after 10 days. He had a do not revive will so the family did not try heroic measures to prevent it. That was in April 2004. He was ready to go. His last words were "Jesus is my best Friend" And he slipped into the coma and passed away 10 days later. Quote Riverside CA
