cardw Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 My 18 y/o son Keith has started his own game company called Keith Kong Games and has gotten Kongregate to sponsor his game. You can help him pay for his college education by giving his game Galactic Dodge Ball a 5 star rating and playing his game. Galactic Dodge Ball If you want to see how its played by a "professional" you can watch him play to get an idea how to get higher scores. Galactic Dodge Ball Video He has become quite the entrepreneur and programmer. He wrote this game in about 3 weeks and this is only his second effort at a game. Its been fun seeing him come into his own... Quote Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8
fccool Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 That's pretty nice! I could not figure out how to shoot down the asteroids. I like these games, as they are pretty addictive. When I was young I stuck around in the arcades from time to time. I loved those advance and avoid fire games. You should refer him to http://blog.papervision3d.org/ It's pretty cool flash 3d engine. I used it in some billboard applications, but it is really cool for games in flash too. I'm sure he probably knows about it, but if he does not... he will love it. Quote
cardw Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 Quote: That's pretty nice! I could not figure out how to shoot down the asteroids. The temptation is to go toward the asteroid. What you do is come up behind the asteroid and capture it in the earth's gravity. Once you lock for long enough the earth will automatically shoot it down. The movie shows how to do this. Its tricky but once you get the hand of it, it makes sense. Keith has to learn how to program gravity and so his pre calculus class spent a period learning how to work with the equations. Thanks for playing... Oh yes, the 3D stuff in flash is fantastic. He didn't know about this. I forwarded your link to him. Thanks! Quote Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8
Amelia Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Well, it's all your fault that I didn't get to bed on time. I love the game. At this time I have the 25th highest score. teehe Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
