Woody Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Rev. Jeremiah Wright was given a great send off ... For his retirement he was given by his former church .... a Huge 10,000 sq. ft. Mansion in a gated community. Plus he was given a 10 million dollar line of credit. Fox reports that this church may indeed be in trouble with the IRS because of this. Since this is probably in a predominantly white neighborhood, I wonder how he feels living among those he has been demonizing? Gerry Quote
Kountzer Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 This whole scandal probably had something to do with it. The mansion is his supporters way of showing the world that they care about him. Their timing is bad though. Wright is in the national spot light in a not too favorable way, and the price tag will be of interest of the feds, namely the IRS. Kountzer Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Is timing the only thing bad in what matter? I've stated several times in posts that I don't agree with what Wright had to say. Having said that, I hardly know the man. Never heard of him before all this came up. I primarily hear adventist preaching in church, I primarily watch sda tv programming. As for liberation theology, etc, & everything else, I consider all that 1st day issues. As for the price of the mansion, it seems a bit exorbitant to me, but that's how mega churches do things these days, black & white mega churches.
