ChildofChrist Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 There were two or three occasions today when there was a public service ad for energy conservation. Forget with it's Saturday night or Sunday. Maybe it is just in FL but the feeling I had that it was to be a national kind of thing. I think it has to do also with family unity. You know, turn off the TV and do something different., like getting to know your family. While Adventists tend to do this especially every Friday night, it shows how different life is for most Americans. When I was younger, Saturday night would be a wonderful time as my parents made mmmm fudge, popped corn, hot chocolate and apples, etc. We'd play some sort of game that fit on top of a card table with things. Not sure what it was called. lol Then there were the boxed games like Sorry etc. Then just 6 years ago when I was in TN the people I was staying with...after popcorn, fruit salad etc--maybe smoothies, on Friday nights, we'd turn out the lights and by 20 or so candles, sing and share. Pleasant memories. Quote Wakan Tanka Kici Un ~~Child of Christ~~
